Principled Apartment Advisor
Branding, Web development
On the heels of their merger with Royal LePage Signature Brokerage, Principled Apartment Advisor approached us to help create their brand identity and website—one that would showcase their expertise, hands-on approach, and unique properties. To help Principled Advisor achieve this goal, we designed their identity to reflect the lively, colourful and professional experience vendors and investors can expect when working with this multi-residential Ontario realtor. The company’s diverse inventory is presented in a continuously updated listing that never sacrifices richness or clarity. The result is a fully functional (and fun) website that allows Principled Advisor to showcase new success stories and initiatives as they move forward.
I Love Tennis
Branding, Web development
I Love Tennis is a social media, match-up and local business site in one. We performed every aspect of design from strategic and marketing development, to wireframe and interface, to complex back-end coding. I Love Tennis was conceived of in order to create a fun tennis community in Toronto and the GTA. So we constructed a comprehensive system that allows users to set up profiles, add tennis “Buddies”, post status updates to call out for games, and custom search a database of courts and clubs. Basically, local tennis lovers need not look any further. The site has a vibrant and buoyant energy created by pastel tones, crisp images, and playful graphic icons.
Kastio
Branding, User Interface
Kastio is a live streaming service that broadcasts events online. The video player, as well as the landing and admin pages interfaces, have been designed by Half Hunter to function optimally on desktop and all mobile devices. Kastio also needed a logo that could stand for its various types of content, while promising quality and professionalism. The lettering is unique; it is strong, creating a bold identity for the Kastio brand, with a sense of fluidity in the bevelled edges. Kastio was a collaboration between Half Hunter and the local interactive solutions studio Functional Imperative.
MYNEXT
Branding, Web development
MYNEXT is a social media platform that engages the community through the power of words to create a unique personal experience. We developed a complex interactive site that allows users to create a profile, read or recommend relevant articles, and submit their own stories to be read by the NEXT community and shared with other social media sites. Our brainchild, the “Mood Bar,” allows users to share a reflection, intention or desire with their online friends, and comment on other members’ Moods, facilitating communal support. A user-friendly interface guides operation. The site is a successful crossroads of energy, accessibility, and productivity.
Paaeez
To celebrate seven years of success, Toronto’s Paaeez tapas bar and drink lounge decided to give themselves a birthday present and take their menu in a new direction. We conceived of this sleek, elongated design to complement the restaurant’s long and narrow space. Geometrical shapes and images of wildlife enhance the atmosphere of an autumnal cavern that distinguishes the interior of Paaeez. Our design is bold and big. It parallels the beauty of nature with a refined selection of exotic flavours.
MELEE, Of Stone, River & Song
Product Design
Of Stone, River & Song is an album by Toronto group MELEE that was inspired by the land of Great Zimbabwe. We created this logo, album jacket, booklet, and CD illustration in collaboration with local illustrator extraordinaire Dmitri Bondarenko.
NEXT
Branding
The NEXT Program improves interpersonal relationships both at home and at work through a combination of proven performance-enhancing methodologies and breakthroughs in neuroplasticity and neuroscience. NEXT approached us to provide comprehensive branding for their technology-driven company, requiring a reworking of everything from website design, logo and letterhead, to brochures, e-blasts, and program packaging. We collaborated with their team of behavioural scientists, thought leaders, and researchers.
Cafe Awtash
Branding
Café Awtash is a popular Persian café and hookah bar on College Street in downtown Toronto. The second you walk through their doors, the aromas of mint, fruit, and incense fill the air. Customers, young and old, recline on cushions in private booths playing Backgammon or eating olives and fresh bread. Café Awtash wanted a website that would immerse the customer in the warm glow of their lounge before actually stepping foot inside. We designed a menu that is fresh and vibrant while boasting opulent Persian imagery. Our branding—which includes a new menu, website, business cards, stationery, and window design—reflects the Café Awtash experience, a rich, sensual and inviting atmosphere for clients to unwind in a beautiful space.
Selected Logos
Branding
The core of a brand. Whether designed for a corporate business, start-up, service industry or art collective, our logos symbolize the essence of our clients’ enterprise.
Local Design
There is an old Southern expression, “You gotta dance with the one that brung ya.” This is why, as firmly grounded designers, we love to stay true to our roots and contribute to local artist-run and community projects. At Half/Hunter, we also support the non-profit and arts community, providing quality illustration, branding and design for Toronto and Montreal-based fundraisers, charities, magazines, performance art and installation exhibitions, sporting associations, and even group collectives and individual artists.
